Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a DevOps Engineer at Pagoda Labs located in Kathmandu. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), continuous integration, system administration, software development, and Linux operations

What you’ll do:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining DevOps processes and infrastructure to support cloud-based products and services.
• Building, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software deployments.
• Collaborating with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery workflows.
• Implementing and maintaining security protocols to ensure compliance and safeguard sensitive customer data.
• Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks while optimizing systems for scalability and reliability.
• Managing Linux/Unix-based systems and automating operations using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Working with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Continuously monitoring and analyzing system performance to identify areas for improvement.
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Participating in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to maintain system uptime.
• Initial provisioning and configuration of bare-metal servers and workstations Handling system administration tasks including user management, backups, and routine maintenance.
• Network and email management, including configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network infrastructure
• Staying updated on emerging DevOps technologies and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
• Proactively expand knowledge in GCP, Flutter, and Firebase to support evolving product needs.

What we are looking for:

• 2+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE or related role
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services (preferably AWS)
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Elasticsearch
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience with security protocols and compliance requirements
• Hands-on knowledge of networking fundamentals, including router setup and configuration, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and email systems
